In recognition of the National Day of
Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls on May 5th, the Alberta Teacher’s Association Indigenous Education Council is partnering with the National Film Board of Canada to host a discussion night about the film,
Finding Dawn.
Acclaimed Métis filmmaker Christine Welsh crafted this gripping documentary that puts a human face on a national tragedy – the epidemic of missing or murdered Indigenous women in Canada. The film takes a journey to Vancouver's skid row, down the Highway of Tears in Northern BC, and on to Saskatoon, where the murders and disappearances of women remain unsolved.
